The Strip is a working produce district that eats like a festival: a half-mile of Penn and Smallman where wholesale fish counters, seventy-year-old bakeries and some of the city's most ambitious kitchens share the same sidewalk. Mornings belong to the diners and the bakery lines, evenings to a dinner scene that has quietly become one of Pittsburgh's best. The tourist traps are real; so is the food two doors past them.
